Harnesses & editors
Agent harnesses, editors, runtimes and model-provider services documented for Sigma5C research, with current and historical use distinguished.
Aider
Aider is a terminal coding assistant that connects a selected language model to a local Git project. Its documentation treats repository context, editing formats and model configuration as distinct parts of the coding workflow.
Used internally
Amp
Amp is a coding agent and development environment. Its current documentation describes model selection managed by the product, retained conversation threads and remote execution environments called orbs.
Claude Code
Claude Code connects coding models to repository files, editing tools and command execution. Anthropic documents terminal, editor, desktop and web interfaces around the coding workflow.
Used internally
Ruflo (formerly Claude Flow)
Ruflo is the project formerly named Claude Flow. Its publisher describes an orchestration layer around coding agents, with task coordination, shared memory and integrations exposed through plugins or MCP.
Cline CLI
Cline CLI brings the Cline coding workflow to interactive terminal sessions and headless tasks. The documentation separates provider configuration, task history and tool-policy extensions from the selected model.
Used internally
Codex CLI
Codex CLI is OpenAI's terminal interface for working against a local repository. Its documented loop combines file inspection, changes, installed tools and review under configured permissions.
Used internally
Devin CLI
Devin CLI is Cognition's local terminal coding agent. Official documentation describes work against local files and environment, with a separate handoff path to cloud Devin.
Used internally
Gemini CLI
Gemini CLI is Google's terminal agent for code and other project tasks. Documentation covers local files, shell tools, persistent context and extensible integrations. Sigma5C retains its historical use while deprecating it in the internal stack.
Deprecated in our stack
Hermes Agent
Hermes Agent is a Nous Research agent framework with terminal and messaging interfaces. Its documentation describes reusable skills, retained memory and configurable tools around model-backed work.
Used internally
Kilo Code CLI
Kilo Code CLI provides a terminal coding-agent interface. Its documentation describes configurable providers, task modes, permissions and extension points; the CLI and Kilo's model gateway are separate product surfaces.
Used internally
oh-my-pi (omp)
oh-my-pi is a coding-agent project built by Stencil Labs and derived from Pi. Its documentation describes an agent environment that combines code editing with language-server, debugger and execution tools.
Used internally
Ollama runtime
Ollama provides a runtime for downloading, managing and running model packages locally, with APIs used by applications and agents. The model library, local runtime and Ollama Cloud are distinct delivery surfaces; a package distributed through Ollama may have another model developer.
Used internally
OpenClaw
OpenClaw is a self-hosted gateway connecting messaging applications to coding agents. Its documentation describes channel plugins, separated sessions and agent routing, together with a browser control interface.
Used internally
OpenCode
OpenCode is an open-source coding agent with terminal, desktop and web surfaces. Current documentation describes provider connections and customization around tools, instructions and permissions; these are separate from the models and delivery services it connects to.
Used internally
Pi coding agent
Pi is an extensible coding-agent harness from Earendil. The project documents a small core with model-provider connections, reusable packages and several interfaces for interactive or programmatic use.
Used internally
Roo Code CLI (historical)
Roo Code's retained CLI provides a terminal task interface for the project's coding agent. Its official CLI release history remains in the archived Roo Code repository. Sigma5C retains the historical use record and marks this CLI deprecated in its stack.
Deprecated in our stack
Cursor
Cursor is an editor and coding-agent environment from Anysphere. Its documentation describes agents using project instructions, code search, editing and terminal tools. The owner reports previous Sigma5C use, not current use.
Previously used
Windsurf (historical product)
Windsurf is retained here as a historically used editor product. Cognition's official announcement identifies Devin Desktop as its successor product line, combining the IDE foundation with an agent-management interface. Sigma5C has not attested use of the successor through this historical record.
Deprecated in our stack
Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio Code is Microsoft's extensible editor. Its agent-mode documentation describes a tool loop combining workspace context, code changes and terminal feedback, with additional tools supplied by extensions and MCP.
